Priority will be given to projects which
contribute to the networking of
institutions, laboratories, facilities,
stations, observatories and study sites.
Among the themes that are promoted
by MISTRALS are:
The study of climate change
and the interactions between
climate,
societies
and
civilizations
in
the
Mediterranean region
The
Mediterranean
water
cycle, evolution of climate
variability as well as the origin
and the forecasting of intense
hydro-meteorological events
The evolution of urban and
rural areas – social, economic,
biotechnical dynamics – due to
climate change.
Each project must have a research
component and can include innovation
and/or training components. Project
duration is set for two years. Financing
is allocated on a yearly basis (max
20.000€ for 2 years). The deadline has
been set for 15/9/2014.

recently Mirai the well known
Japanese company and its futuristic
approaches to farming. Plants are
cultivated in closed opaque buildings
equipped with LEDs. Regarding water
management except of the broadly
applied close loop hydroponics, also
the moisture from plants transpiration
is collected and recycled.

Although it is not very common to find
an art work inspired by irrigation
