ERANETΜΕD
A
pre-announcement
of
ERANETMED,
Joint
call
on
Renewable
Energies,
Water
Resources and their connections for
the Mediterranean Region has been
recently published.
ERANETMED scheme is a EU FP7
initiative that aims at co-ordinating
research activities of the different
national research programmes from
EU Members States, Associated
Countries and Mediterranean Partner
Countries.
Renewable energies, water resources
and their nexus are important
challenges in the Mediterranean
region and face common constraints
and issues, while trans-national
research
addressed
to
these
challenges is still highly fragmented
and requires a strong co-ordination
and joint-effort of countries to enhance
effective and high impact research as
well as innovation.

European Soil Maps

of the
newsletter, it was written that the
European Digital Archive of Soil Maps
has concluded the
metadata entry for 1.312 European
maps.
Soil map of Greece (EuDASM)
This is part of the global EuDASM
project making available more than
6.000 Maps from 142 countries around
the
World.
To
ensure
their
preservation and easy disclosure,
EuDASM scanned paper-based soil
maps with the maximum possible
resolution and stored them into a
digital format. Many of these maps
are over 50 years old and are
beginning to deteriorate.
