cooperate on GNSS-related issues.
They identified the need to make
connections
between
existing
networks and platforms to increase
dissemination of information and
knowledge sharing for GNSS and
Precision agriculture. So, the project’s
team decided to create an online user
forum as a way for farmers and others
from all over Europe to talk to each
other about GNSS, and contribute to
making the existing technology more
user friendly and well-known.
There are many links which can be
made with the EIP-AGRI network,
through the EIP-AGRI website and
encouraging possible Operational
Groups and Horizon 2020 projects on
this topic.
The project was also funded through
the European Union’s Seventh
Framework
Programme.

Properties?
The target of 3D-Mosaic is to promote
precision management of orchards by
means of a decision support system
(DSS) aiming to optimize efficiency of
inputs including water and to diminish
the environmental footprint of fruit
production. The DSS will apply
information
and
communication
technologies (ICT) for precision
management of the most economically
relevant tree crops, apple and citrus.

Horizon 2020 is the largest source of
public funding for research and
innovation from the European
Commission and it has a budget of
around €4 billion for the societal
challenge 2 on “Food security,
sustainable agriculture and forestry,
marine, maritime and inland water
research and the bioeconomy.” It will
run from 2014 to 2020. Horizon 2020
calls are open to any legal entity,
including applicants from outside the
EU.
