All irrigation events were added in real time to the system by the farmers while the
irrigation of the majority of the registered fields was conducted under the advisory
guidance of
system.
Furthermore, soil analyses were performed at all registered fields, in cooperation to
of TEI of Western Greece and measurement of
soil hydraulic conductivity was conducted in cooperation to Irrigation and Drainage
Laboratory of TEI of Western Greece in order for all this data to support the
improvement of
DSS.
For the estimation of kiwi fruit evapotranspiration, measurements of the number of
leaves and the kiwi plant leaf area were conducted at selected registered fields.
For the whole irrigation period, in pilot fields were placed soil moisture sensors, water
meters for measuring irrigation water volume as well as temperature and moisture
sensors under the tree crown level.
